This Privacy Policy explains how Verdli ("Verdli," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use our mobile application and related services.
Verdli is a plant care app that helps you build a profile for each of your houseplants, identify plants from photos, follow a watering and feeding schedule, record growth over time, ask an AI plant assistant for care advice, and generate growth timelapse videos and shareable plant cards.
By using Verdli, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:
Account Information
• Email address
• Google account identifier if you choose Google login
• Email verification codes used to sign in
• Nickname
• Avatar
• Gardening experience level you select
• User ID
• Login status and authentication tokens
Plant and Care Data
• Plant nickname, species, age, and care settings such as watering interval, feeding interval, environment, and light
• Watering, feeding, and other care records, including completed and missed tasks
• Growth stage information
Photos and User Content
• Plant photos you capture or upload, including both the original photo and the cut-out image produced on your device
• Growth journal photos and the text notes you write
• Photos you attach when asking the AI plant assistant a question
• Generated timelapse videos and plant cards
AI Assistant Data
• The questions you send to the AI plant assistant and any photos attached to them
• Recent conversation context that your device sends with each question so the assistant can follow the thread
Purchase Information
• Records of timelapse generation credits you purchase and consume
• Purchase receipts validated with Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not collect or store your payment card details.
Location Information
• Approximate location, only if you grant permission, used to show local weather on the home screen
App Settings and Preferences
• Push notification and care reminder settings
• Night mode preference
• Temperature unit preference
Device and Usage Information
• Device model
• Operating system version

3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
• Create and manage your Verdli account
• Support Google login and email verification code login
• Upload, store, display, and sync your plant photos and growth journal entries
• Identify plant species from photos and suggest default care settings
• Build and maintain your care schedule and calendar
• Assess plant growth from your journal photos and generate growth scores and care suggestions
• Answer your questions through the AI plant assistant
• Generate timelapse videos and plant cards from your photos
• Show local weather, if you grant location permission
• Send push notifications and care reminders if enabled
• Validate purchases and maintain your timelapse credit balance
• Improve app performance, stability, and user experience
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security issues, or technical problems
• Respond to user support requests
• Comply with legal obligations
4. Photo Uploads and Storage
When you add a plant, record a growth journal entry, or attach a photo to an AI assistant question, the image is uploaded to and stored on our servers so that you can access it across sessions, view it in your journal, and use related app features such as timelapse videos and plant cards.
Photo cut-out and outline processing happens on your device. Both the original photo and the processed image may be uploaded and stored.
Photos you select but never send may be removed automatically after a short retention period.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload any image or content you submit to Verdli.
5. AI Features and How Your Content Is Processed
Verdli uses artificial intelligence to identify plant species, assess plant growth from photos, and answer your plant care questions.
To provide these features, the relevant photos and text may be transmitted to and processed by third-party AI service providers on our behalf. We instruct these providers to process the content only to return a result to you.
AI output is informational only. Plant identification, growth scores, and care advice may be inaccurate or incomplete and should not be relied on as professional horticultural, veterinary, medical, or safety advice.
6. AI Assistant Chat History Is Stored On Your Device
Your conversations with the AI plant assistant are stored locally on your device. We do not keep a copy of your chat history on our servers and we do not provide a way to retrieve past conversations from our servers.
Two consequences follow from this design:
• Your chat history does not sync between devices.
• If you uninstall the app or clear its data, your chat history is permanently lost.
Individual messages are still transmitted to us at the moment you send them so that we can generate a reply, and we may retain limited, de-identified operational records of that activity for abuse prevention and service quality purposes.
7. Location Data
Verdli may request access to your approximate device location so that we can show local weather conditions on the home screen.
We only collect location data when you grant permission. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings. If location access is disabled, weather information may be unavailable or inaccurate, but all other plant care features continue to work.
8. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information only in the following situations:
• With service providers that help us operate the app, such as cloud storage, authentication, AI processing, analytics, crash reporting, or push notification services
• With a platform you choose when you share a timelapse video or plant card. What happens to the content after that is governed by that platform’s own terms and privacy policy.
• When required by law, legal process, or government request
• To protect the rights, safety, and security of users, Verdli, or others
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or transfer of business assets, with appropriate safeguards
9. Third-Party Services
Verdli may use third-party services, including but not limited to:
• Google login or authentication services
• Cloud storage and content delivery providers
• AI model providers for plant identification, growth assessment, and the AI plant assistant
• Email delivery services used to send login verification codes
• Weather data providers
• Analytics and crash reporting tools
• Push notification services
• Apple App Store and Google Play for purchase validation
These services may process data according to their own privacy policies. We require service providers to process data only for app-related purposes.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information. Personal and sensitive data is transmitted using secure methods such as HTTPS where applicable.
However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide Verdli services, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Plant profiles, uploaded photos, growth journal entries, care records, and generated timelapse videos are generally retained while your account remains active unless you delete them or request account deletion.
Login verification codes are short-lived and expire automatically.
Some data may be retained for a limited period after deletion if required for legal, security, fraud prevention, backup, or compliance purposes.
12. Account Deletion and Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your Verdli account and associated data.
When your account is deleted, we will delete or anonymize personal data associated with your account, including account information, plant profiles, uploaded photos, growth journal entries, care records, generated timelapse videos, and app settings, unless retention is required by law or for legitimate security, fraud prevention, or compliance reasons.
AI assistant chat history is stored on your device and is removed when you delete the app data or uninstall the app.
Unused timelapse credits are not refundable and are forfeited on account deletion.
13. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
• Access your personal information
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account or personal information
• Withdraw consent for certain data processing
• Disable location access
• Disable push notifications and care reminders
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Request a copy of your data

14. Children’s Privacy
Verdli is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to consent to data processing. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent.

Your information may be processed and stored in countries or regions outside your country of residence. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards to protect transferred data.
